SafeNest aggregates publicly available records: state offender registries, FBI and local crime statistics, FEMA flood maps, EPA facility databases (TRI and hazardous waste), the National Center for Education Statistics, EPA AirNow air quality data, and US Census data. We don't create this data — we collect it from official public sources and present it in one place.
Data is refreshed on a rolling basis, but public records can lag reality. Always verify anything important with the original source before making a decision.
Q.How are the safety grades and school scores calculated?
The neighborhood grade weighs local crime rates against national percentiles, adjusted for the radius you select. School SafeNest Scores combine academic performance, staffing quality (student-teacher and counselor ratios, certification rates), and school climate data into a 0–10 score with a letter grade. Grades are informational summaries, not guarantees about any place or institution.
Q.I found data that looks wrong or outdated. What do I do?
Email support@safenest.app with the address and the item in question. Because our data comes from public sources, corrections usually need to happen at the source (the state registry, county records, etc.) — but we'll investigate, and if our aggregation or display is at fault, we'll fix it.
Q.How do I manage or cancel my Premium subscription?
Subscriptions are billed through your Apple ID. To manage or cancel: open Settings on your iPhone → tap your name → Subscriptions → select SafeNest. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep Premium until the end of the current billing period. Apple handles all billing — SafeNest never sees your payment details.
Q.How do I restore a purchase on a new device?
Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID you subscribed with, then open SafeNest and tap Restore on the Premium screen.
Q.Can I request deletion of my data?
Yes. Email support@safenest.app from the address associated with your request and we'll delete the data we hold about you, subject to what we're legally required to retain. See our Privacy Policy for details on what we collect in the first place (it's not much).
Q.Can I use SafeNest reports for tenant screening, hiring, or lending decisions?
No. SafeNest is not a consumer reporting agency and its reports must not be used to determine anyone's eligibility for housing, employment, credit, insurance, or any other purpose regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act. SafeNest reports are about places, for your personal awareness. See our Terms of Use.
